Garden

You know your house is a mess …

October 1, 2010

When even the plants are dirty.

My Hakonechloa ‘All Gold’, Heuchera ‘Blackout’, and new witch hazel all got a heavy coating of dust when the masons were out fixing the chimney. Guess I’ll have to wash my gardens this weekend since rain isn’t predicted for awhile.

That's the worst! I always have to clean up after masons and builders like this. Really rinse things good and drench the soil a few times after – the mortar dust contains some chemicals that are not good for the soil, and can lower PH. You may like to do a quick PH test in the coming weks to make sure it's in a decent zone.
